Russian Air and Drone Strikes Kill Four Across Ukraine Amid Escalating Attacks

Russia launched a widespread drone and air assault across Ukraine, killing at least four people, officials reported. The strikes came just a day after U.S. President Donald Trump questioned Russian President Vladimir Putin’s willingness to end the war.

In a Facebook post, the Donetsk regional prosecutor’s office said Russian forces dropped three glide bombs on a city about 10 kilometers (6 miles) from the front line on Sunday. Over the past year, Russian forces have slowly advanced toward this area.
The attack killed a couple, aged 47 and 48, along with a 78-year-old pensioner. Twenty-one homes were damaged. Photos from the scene showed a destroyed single-story house and the burned shell of a car.

In another incident, a drone strike killed one person and wounded a 14-year-old girl in Pavlohrad, located in the Dnipropetrovsk region. Governor Serhii Lysak said it was the third consecutive night the city was targeted.

The Ukrainian air force said Russia fired 149 explosive drones and decoys in the latest wave of attacks. They reported that 57 drones were shot down and 67 were jammed.

Additional attacks wounded one person in the Odesa region and another in the city of Zhytomyr. Four more people were injured during an air strike on Kherson city on Sunday morning, according to local officials.

These attacks came just hours after Putin claimed that Russian forces had regained full control of areas in the Kursk region, which Ukrainian forces had briefly seized in a surprise operation last August. However, Ukrainian officials insisted that fighting in Kursk was still ongoing.
