B-1 UAVs Join Ukrainian Military, Offering Enhanced Stealth and Electronic Warfare Resistance

by Belinda

Ukraine’s Ministry of Defence has officially adopted the domestically developed B-1 unmanned aerial system (UAS) for use by its Armed Forces. The announcement was made by the MoD’s Main Directorate for Support of the Life Cycle of Weapons and Military Equipment.

The B-1 drones are described as ultra-lightweight “bombers,” specifically designed to target enemy personnel, vehicles, armoured units, and other military assets both on the front lines and behind enemy lines. According to the Directorate, the B-1 drones are capable of staying airborne for several hours.

These UAVs are equipped to carry a variety of ammunition types and feature a low-noise, high-performance engine, which helps reduce the risk of detection during operations.

A key strength of the B-1 system is its enhanced resistance to enemy electronic warfare, ensuring better operational security. Additionally, the Ministry highlighted the system’s quick deployment and retraction capabilities, which significantly reduce the risk to the crew during missions.
