A Russian drone strike triggered a massive fire in Kharkiv early on April 14, engulfing a warehouse and igniting a blaze that covered 1,600 square meters, according to Ukraine’s State Emergency Service (SES).

The explosion occurred during an air raid alert in the morning hours, when a Russian UAV struck a warehouse storing food supplies. Despite the scale of the fire, officials confirmed that no casualties were reported.

A total of 85 rescuers and 19 units of SES equipment were dispatched to the scene, including a fire train, pyrotechnic specialists, and SES psychologists. The city’s utility services also contributed 11 vehicles to assist in the response.

SES teams worked swiftly to contain and extinguish the flames. Authorities did not provide details on the extent of the material damage, but the fire was successfully brought under control.

Kharkiv, located in northeastern Ukraine near the Russian border, remains a frequent target of Russian drone and missile strikes as the war continues.
