Russian drones attacked the Ukrainian capital of Kyiv and the southern city of Mykolaiv overnight, injuring at least 12 people, local authorities reported on Thursday.
In Kyiv, two women were injured as drones triggered a fire at a storage facility and caused damage to residential buildings, according to the city’s military administration.
Authorities tracked 30 drones in Kyiv’s airspace, 16 of which were destroyed. The remaining drones either left the area or were “lost,” officials said.
Meanwhile, in Mykolaiv, the overnight attack resulted in 10 injuries, according to the city’s regional governor, Vitalii Kim.
The assault also caused significant damage, including to nine apartment buildings, 30 garages, and an administrative building, Kim reported.
While Russia denies targeting civilians, the ongoing conflict has resulted in thousands of deaths and injuries since its invasion of Ukraine.
