One person was injured and multiple fires broke out in Kyiv after a Russian drone attack struck the city in the early hours of April 29, according to local officials.
A woman was injured in the Desnyanskyi district and is receiving medical attention at the scene, Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said in a Telegram post at 2:23 a.m. Emergency crews responded after a house and several vehicles caught fire, Klitschko reported earlier at 1:51 a.m.
Falling debris has been reported in the Desnyanskyi district, where medical personnel have been dispatched, according to local authorities.
The air raid alert was first issued at 12:56 a.m. by Tymur Tkachenko, head of the Kyiv City Military Administration.
Russia continues to target civilian infrastructure with drone and missile attacks as part of its ongoing war against Ukraine.
The latest attack comes just one day after Russian President Vladimir Putin proposed a so-called “humanitarian” truce to mark the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II in Europe.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky rejected the offer, citing continued Russian strikes on civilian areas as evidence that the Kremlin has no real intention of ending its war.
