Denmark Opens Military Drone Testing Centre to Advance Defence Technology

by Belinda

Denmark is taking a significant step towards enhancing its national defence by opening a military drone testing centre at Hans Christian Andersen Airport in Odense. This new facility, situated in one of Europe’s largest airspaces dedicated to drone testing, will focus on developing advanced drone technology.

The move comes as drones continue to transform modern warfare, from Ukraine to Gaza, by playing a pivotal role in both combat and surveillance. Andreas Graae, a military technology researcher, highlighted the growing trend of warfare becoming “more and more dehumanised,” with drones at the forefront of this shift.

Denmark’s new testing centre aims to position the country at the cutting edge of drone technology, ensuring its military capabilities are future-ready.
