The Houthis announced on Saturday that they have now downed a total of 21 U.S. drones.
In a video released by the group, they showed the wreckage of a U.S. MQ-9 Reaper drone. The drone was reportedly shot down while conducting a hostile mission in the airspace over Sana’a province. The footage captured the moment the drone crashed and caught fire, with its wreckage clearly visible.
Earlier, the Houthis had confirmed downing another U.S. MQ-9 drone, which they said was also engaged in a hostile mission over the skies of Sana’a. The group claimed their air defenses targeted the drone with a locally-made surface-to-air missile.
This marks the second U.S. drone to be shot down within a 24-hour period and the sixth drone downed in April 2025.
