A Russian drone attack on the Ukrainian city of Dnipro late Wednesday killed three people, including a young girl, and injured 28 others, according to Ukrainian authorities.

“Late in the evening, the enemy attacked the city of Dnipro with drones,” the State Emergency Service of Ukraine wrote in a post on Telegram. “The Russians killed three people, including one child.”

Dnipropetrovsk regional governor Sergiy Lysak confirmed the victims included a young girl and an elderly woman. Among the injured are four children, and a nine-month-old baby was also hurt in the strike, Lysak added.

The attack caused multiple fires across the city, damaging homes and other infrastructure. Emergency crews have since extinguished all the blazes.

This drone assault follows a deadly Russian missile strike on Sunday, which killed at least 35 people in the northern city of Sumy.

Russia has stepped up aerial attacks across Ukraine in recent weeks, despite growing international pressure to stop the war. U.S. President Donald Trump has called for a ceasefire to end more than three years of conflict between the two nations.
